Personal and Academic Profile

Dr. Oded Y. Steinberg is a modern historian and Senior Lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, affiliated with the Department of International Relations and the European Forum. His research focuses on intellectual history, Anglo-German thought, periodization, race and nationalism, and humanitarian advocacy in the nineteenth century.

Higher Education

  • 2003-2006: Undergraduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (History, Jewish History, BA program for excelling students), magna cum laude.
  • 2007-2010: MA studies at the European Forum, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Supervisor: Prof. Dan Diner. Magna cum laude.

Teaching and Supervision

Dr. Steinberg supervises MA and doctoral research in modern European and international history, nationalism, and related intellectual traditions.
